Oxfam in Bangladesh begins the year on a strong note with the successful revival of its newsletter, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Influencing, Communications, Advocacy, and Media (ICAM) team. Over the past quarter, Oxfam filled more than 20 crucial leadership and other positions, addressing a major challenge in implementing its reformed strategy. The newly established Project Management Unit (PMU) is now fully operational, with all projects expected to transition to this structure by March 2024.
A visit from Oxfam trustees provided valuable insights, particularly concerning the Rohingya crisis, and global outreach efforts, including representation at the Global Gathering in Nairobi, further highlighted this issue. Oxfam’s participation at COP 28 showcased its leadership on climate justice, with impactful discussions at both the Government (Party) pavilion and the Civil Society Organization (CSO) space.
Oxfam also celebrated Victory Day with the launch of a new podcast series, an initiative aimed at fostering new connections and support. Looking ahead, Oxfam in Bangladesh is excited for continued collaboration and positive impact throughout 2024.
